| We have a wide range of rugs ranging from the hand-knotted Persians with their deep and rich colours, through to our hand-knotted Turkish collections, offering a more gentle look. No two rugs are the same, and the imperfections of these hand-knotted masterpieces only add to their charm.
For those more interested in the invigorating modern look, we have developed our ranges to suit all tastes from textured to sumptuous, natural designs to classic abstract styles and funky bright stripes in a rainbow of colours. |
The art of weaving is amongst the oldest of human endeavours. In the Middle Ages, tapestry had a purely utilitatrian function, protecting rooms from damp, covering big castle walls and insulating rooms. Sadly, these beautiful pieces were only available to the rich due to the cost of the weaving process.
In 1805, Joseph Marie Jacquard partly automated the process by producing a sophisticated loom. This process is still used today to produce these beautiful and intricate pieces.
